Jentulman is the online and artistic psuedonym of Phil Rennie, an electronic artist and web designer from the south east of England. He has been involved in musical endeavours from an early age, with the usual smattering of school age-bands and teen agnst whinging. Avoiding having had a 'metal' or 'rock' phase at a time when his compatriots and colleagues were listening to Slayer, Megadeath, Pearl Jam and the like Jentulman was listening to Jungle, House and Electronica. Artists like Aphex Twin, Moby (back when he was good), Atlantic Ocean, Innersphere and The Future Sound of London, and DJ's like Slipmatt, Randall and Sy on the Dreamscapes tape sets have all set the influences for the electronic and beat based sounds that he currently creates.
Recently Jentulman has been involved with the erratic yet determined Just These People and Maidenheads enthusiastic and eclectic indie music scene, acts as technical consultant for Monkey Suit a berkshire based live music promotion group, and has performed at events organised by Line Out Records and Just These People's own 'Just This Evening' live experiences.
In 2004 the Jentulman track Red Now Ni Meno was featured on the Where It's At Is Where You Are compilation of one minute tunes 'Sixty minutes (one hour)' and in early 2007 he will be self releasing the album 'We Can't See Yet' on his own Pinstripe Records imprint.
